The 8 limbs of yoga, ancient and true,
A path to enlightenment, for me and for you.
Yama, ethical codes to live by,
Treat others with kindness, don't tell a lie.
Niyama, personal observances to keep,
Purity, contentment, self-study and sleep.
Asana, the postures we practice each day,
Strength, balance, and flexibility displayed.
Pranayama, control of the breath,
Calming the mind, reducing stress.
Pratyahara, withdrawing the senses,
Finding inner peace, breaking down fences.
Dharana, concentration, focus and might,
One-pointed mind, blocking out sight.
Dhyana, meditation, a state of bliss,
Connecting with Spirit, feeling His kiss.
Samadhi, transcendence, unity with all,
Enlightenment achieved, answering the call.
These are the 8 limbs of yoga, a path so divine,
A journey to self-discovery, peace, and align.
